Aaaack!! My First Bike Commuting Nightmare!

Yes, I very literally had a bike commuting nightmare last night. I don't know what precipitated it. The looming threat of lay-offs at work? Feeling overwhelmed by Tweed ride planning? A second day of Intermediate Excel training? Probably all three.

Anyway, in my nightmare I am pedaling down Milton Avenue (a nightmare in and off itself), the wind is blowing very, very hard, and I feel like I am being wedged into an unusually narrow bike lane. Any bike lane on Milton would be welcome but in this case, a hoard of bicyclists come pedaling up my lane in the wrong direction, forcing me back into speeding traffic.

I've awakened from nightmares about all the expected themes: not knowing my lines on opening night; not attending any of my classes all semester; and arriving to work naked. A nightmare about bike commuting strikes me as all time crazy. Has anyone else ever had a bike-themed nightmare? If so, I'd like to hear about it . . . .Yikes!

Yes...buying a Kestral bike online and having all but one, necessary part -- a screw to secure the seatpost. Mind you, a bolt wouldn't seem difficult to replace, would it? Four attempts contacting the company and four failed attempts by Customer Service to simply put a screw in an envelope and mail, they failed. Second, they also designed a bike with uniquely engineered screw -- they don't know specifications. That is a living nightmare!

Oddly enough, I had my first one two nights ago: I dreamt that I was riding my bike really fast and then suddenly noticed I was about to crash right into a pole that appeared out of nowhere in front of me, and I had no time to brake.

I get bad customer service nightmares! My husband finds them funny, but I wake up in a puddle of sweat. Super uncool! Almost worse than a work dream.

Yes, I had one nightmare about my rather lengthy commute: from San Diego to a job in Florida that I rode everyday. I was exhausted the entire time and my social life really suffered! In fact, I believe I woke up completely exhausted!

Nope, haven't had any biking nightmares, but had my first collision a few weeks ago on a bike trail (not my fault) and that was a nightmare! I love seeing that you, too, have had nightmares about not having gone to classes all semester...I know the "can't find my locker" nightmare is common, as is any "naked nightmare", but didn't realize others had the classes one, too! By the way, this is my first post, and I have to say I love your blog! Got back into biking a few years ago and just this year, my passion is really taking off! Thanks for putting out such a fun blog to read!
